Officers from the Lahish District Police arrested two young residents of Ramle in their 20s, suspected of attempting to extort a construction contractor from Nazareth at a project in Moshav Shtulim. According to the suspicion, the two arrived at the construction site in the afternoon to demand protection money from the contractor. When they noticed the contractor was not there, they approached his children who were at the site and conveyed threatening messages through them. Upon receiving the report, the police launched a focused operational activity and arrested the suspects within a short time. Superintendent Shahar Levi, commander of the Lahish District Police, stated that the unit acts decisively against attempts to extort or harm business owners, and that the message is clear – anyone who tries to collect protection money will face a swift response.
