Commandos took 'souvenirs' from a four-star hotel in Lebanon - IDF opens investigation

Reserve commandos from the Commando Brigade, operating in the western sector of southern Lebanon as part of the operation to capture Majdal Zun, stayed at a four-star luxury hotel that had been evacuated of guests and staff at the start of the war. According to testimonies, they discovered the housekeeping storage room containing bathrobes, slippers, soaps, and shampoo bottles, and some took them as souvenirs. The robes were transferred to a company equipment container. The IDF has opened an investigation.

The hotel served for a period as a 'magnet' for the forces. According to testimonies from soldiers, at some point they discovered the housekeeping storage room, where bathrobes and slippers used by hotel guests who received spa treatments were stored, as well as packages of soaps and shampoo bottles. According to the testimonies, many soldiers took the spa robes and slippers as souvenirs from the fighting in Lebanon. The robes were not taken home but were transferred to one of the company equipment containers of one of the companies. The brigade's soldiers were highly appreciated for their role in the fighting in the western sector and the exposure of the drone airport built deep underground beneath Majdal Zun. Maariv has learned that the IDF was not pleased to discover that some soldiers had taken items from the hotel, and the brigade commanders opened an investigation.
