Coalition Stuck in Place – Opposition Already Smells the 61st Seat | Maariv Poll

This week's Maariv poll shows stability in the seat map: the coalition remains at 49 seats, the Zionist opposition at 57, and the Arab parties at 10. A majority of the public (55%) opposes adding Ra'am to the coalition, and 54% oppose the Gaza roadmap. Bennett leads Netanyahu in suitability for prime minister (43% vs. 40%), and Eisenkot leads him by 47% vs. 38%.

The Maariv poll, conducted by Lazar Research headed by Dr. Menachem Lazar in collaboration with Panel4ALL, indicates stability in the seat map amid uncertainty in the security, political, and diplomatic arenas. The coalition remains at 49 seats, compared to 57 for the Zionist opposition parties, which could reach a majority of 61 with the help of the 4 seats of the Zionist Home party (Hili Tropper and Yoaz Hendel). The Arab parties remain at 10 seats, and the effect of the contacts between Mansour Abbas and Yoav Segalovich has not yet materialized. Balad (1.4%) and Blue and White (1.2%) are still far from the electoral threshold. A majority of Israelis (55%) oppose integrating Ra'am into a future coalition, even if Segalovich is placed second on its list. 20% support and 25% have no opinion. A majority of Israelis (54%), especially coalition voters (72%), oppose the roadmap for an arrangement in Gaza as published. 24% support and 22% have no opinion. The gap between Naftali Bennett (43%) and Netanyahu (40%) on the question of suitability for prime minister remains unchanged. The gap in favor of Gadi Eisenkot over Netanyahu (47% vs. 38%) also remains. Against Avigdor Liberman, Netanyahu continues to lead with 42% vs. 38%. The poll was conducted before the announcement by Gilad Erdan and Yuli Edelstein of the establishment of the new party. In the poll, conducted on July 5-6, 3,514 people were invited to participate and 502 respondents (14%) answered, constituting a representative sample. The maximum sampling error is 4.4%.
