Hikers in the springs of the Jerusalem hills are encountering a handful of men bathing fully nude, harassing women, and in extreme cases attacking them. Galit Etzion, a hiker, published a post on social media describing her experiences over the past few weeks: men entering the water without clothes, demanding that those present look away, and according to her, the police are not providing a response. Etzion said she called the police, but the officers took time to arrive and refused to go down to the spring, offering her to file a complaint. She quoted one of the harassers who said that as far as they are concerned, the police will not control the place. Etzion called on the public to join the struggle on Fridays, and warned that the phenomenon could spread to the Yarkon Park. She noted that the deputy mayor, Habilio, promised to join next week.
