The coalition of Palestinian civil society organizations expressed its full support for the statement of the global movement demanding an end to the killing of children. The coalition affirmed that the continued killing and wounding of Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip, even under the ceasefire, represents a serious violation of the right to life and the provisions of international humanitarian law and international human rights law. The coalition warned that the continued killing of children under the ceasefire empties the agreement of its humanitarian content and undermines confidence in international guarantees for the protection of civilians. It called on the international community and the sponsoring and guarantor states of the ceasefire to assume their legal and political responsibilities, and to take immediate steps to ensure respect for the agreement and the protection of children and civilians, along with opening independent and transparent investigations into all cases of child killings and holding those responsible accountable. The coalition also renewed its support for the demands contained in the statement of the global movement, foremost among them providing effective international protection for Palestinian children, ensuring safe and regular access for humanitarian and medical aid, and ending impunity.
