Last night (Wednesday), Border Guard fighters from the Jerusalem envelope and crossing units foiled an attempt to smuggle two illegal residents, residents of Judea and Samaria, who were hidden in the trunk of a family vehicle at the Ofer crossing. The operation was based on precise intelligence. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver, his wife, and their three young children, who are suspected of being used as camouflage for an innocent-looking trip, were detained. The driver, a resident of East Jerusalem in his 40s, was arrested along with the illegal residents and transferred for questioning. The Border Guard emphasized that they will continue to act to prevent illegal infiltration attempts.
