Police and IDF forces raided three vehicle chop shops in the Dhahiriya area of southern Mount Hebron overnight, in an operation by the Eitgar unit of Lahav 433 in cooperation with the Judea Brigade. Two chop shops were demolished, and vehicle parts and chassis suspected as stolen were located on site. The operation was made possible following a change in enforcement policy against vehicle chop shops in the area, under which a military commander's order was updated to allow demolition proceedings against such sites. The commander of the Eitgar unit signed demolition orders for two chop shops that had previously been declared. Simultaneously, a declaration order was signed against a third chop shop, whose case will be reviewed in the ongoing administrative process. Police assess that such chop shops serve as destinations for stolen vehicles, which are dismantled shortly after theft and their parts sold separately. No arrests have been reported during the operation.
