Chase near Shefa-Amr ends in arrest: gun found in suspects' car

Two young men were arrested after a police chase near Shefa-Amr, during which the driver fled in a reckless drive against traffic. Two young men, aged 18 from I'billin and 21 from Eiblin, were arrested yesterday (Wednesday) after a police chase near Shefa-Amr. According to police, during a joint operation of Border Police motorcycle officers from the Internal Security Branch, Galilee YASAM fighters, and Shefa-Amr police officers on Road 781, a vehicle that aroused suspicion was identified and the driver was ordered to stop. The driver did not comply, began to flee in dangerous driving, and even drove against the direction of traffic. During the chase, a suspect arrest procedure was carried out, including firing at the car's wheels, until it was stopped. A Glock pistol was found in a search of the vehicle. The suspects were questioned at the Shefa-Amr station, and today the police are expected to ask the court to extend their detention. Police noted that since the beginning of the year, more than 530 illegal weapons have been seized in the Northern District as part of the fight against violent crime.
