Charged with setting fire to a hall in Tiberias, and suspected of throwing a grenade at G'panika: 'Part of criminal feuds'

Two young men from Bat Yam, aged 18 and 22, were charged with throwing a fragmentation grenade at a G'panika branch in Kiryat Ono on July 13. In parallel, they and another young man (19) from Lod were charged with setting fire to the 'Magia' event hall in Tiberias. Police attribute the incidents to feuds between criminals.

The State Prosecutor's Office filed a prosecutor's statement before filing an indictment against two young men, aged 18 and 22, from Bat Yam, for throwing a fragmentation grenade at a branch of the 'G'panika' chain in Kiryat Ono. According to the investigation materials, the two arrived at the branch on a motorcycle, masked, at 2:00 a.m. on July 13, amid a wave of grenade attacks on the chain's branches. Police said that 'the source of the incident is feuds between criminals, which constitute a crime generator for violent incidents that occurred across the country recently.' In parallel, an indictment was filed against them and another young man (19) from Lod, attributing to them the arson of the 'Magia' event hall in Tiberias. According to the indictment, filed by attorney Ohad Cohen from the Northern District Prosecutor's Office, the defendants conspired to break into the hall and set it on fire, equipped themselves with a gasoline bottle and an iron bar, and used duct tape to alter one of the digits on their vehicle's license plate. During the night, two of them smashed the glass door, poured gasoline, and ignited it, while the third waited in the vehicle. Investigators located the suspects using technological means, and findings were seized from their homes.
