However, Katz sharply criticizes the harm to the traveling public, which he describes as "disproportionate" and "taking the public hostage." According to him, Idan warned for over two months about the harsh working conditions of the porters and workers in the extreme heat and unusual baggage load. Katz rejects the attempt to point to a single factor as responsible for the crisis and states that responsibility is shared among the committee, the Airports Authority management, which dragged its feet, and the political echelon. He compares the situation to the conduct of the Israel Aerospace Industries committee, which has not gone on strike for 40 years despite disputes and conflicts with the Treasury and the government, and emphasizes that "we knew how to resolve things internally."
