CBS: Average Salary in Israel Rises by 7.7%

The Central Bureau of Statistics released preliminary estimates for June 2026: the average salary for an Israeli employee rose to NIS 15,223, an increase of 7.7% compared to June last year. The number of employee positions reached 4.216 million, a growth of 1.1% from May and 2.0% from last year. In May, the salary was updated to NIS 14,263 (an increase of 6.6%), and in high-tech the salary stood at NIS 35,760 (an increase of 13.7%), with 397.1 thousand positions, 9.5% of all positions.

According to the data, the average salary of an Israeli employee in June totaled NIS 15,223, an addition of NIS 1,091 compared to June last year, an increase of 7.7% within a year. Meanwhile, the number of employee positions of Israeli workers reached 4.216 million in June, an increase of 1.1% compared to May 2026 and a growth of 2.0% compared to June last year. The CBS also updated salary data for May 2026: the average salary in current prices stood at NIS 14,263, an addition of NIS 884 and an increase of 6.6% compared to May last year. In the high-tech sector, the average salary for employees in May stood at NIS 35,760, an addition of NIS 4,301 and an increase of 13.7% compared to May last year. The number of employee positions in high-tech in May stood at 397.1 thousand, an increase of 0.2% compared to April, and they constitute 9.5% of all employee positions in the economy. The data indicate a continued upward trend in salaries and employment, with an emphasis on the high-tech sector.
