During an inspection that began on July 9, unregistered shampoos and formulations were seized, including a product with prohibited glyoxylic acid, linked to kidney failure. Formaldehyde, a carcinogen banned in cosmetics, was also found. The ministry urges the public to stop using these products.

Israel's Ministry of Health has issued a renewed warning, urging citizens to stop using a range of hair cosmetics found in branches of the 'Center for Straightening' ('Merkaz ha-Hahlakot') chain. This is a continuation of an inspection that began on July 9, when inspectors visited nine locations of the chain. After laboratory tests were completed, the ministry published a full list of dangerous findings. During the raids, shampoos and straightening formulations not listed in official registries were seized, making their sale illegal. Among them are PROTEIN + MINERAL PREMIUM HAIR STRAIGHTENING and Protein mineral premium pre treatment shampoo. Particular concern was raised by the product HYDRO KERATIN PRO HAIR STRAIGHTENING GEL, whose packaging lists glyoxylic acid. In Israel, this ingredient is banned in hair straightening products because a causal link has been established with the development of severe pathologies, including kidney failure. Signs of counterfeiting were also found: the manufacturer 'Tiltal' stated that the products Revival Riginol PRO and Revival Straight were not produced by them. In unlabeled products, formaldehyde was found, which is recognized as a carcinogen and banned in cosmetics. The Ministry of Health reminds of the risks of buying cosmetics from unverified sources.
