Car stolen with girl inside, found in heart of Palestinian village: 'I thought I was kidnapped'

An Arab-Israeli family on vacation in the West Bank experienced a drama when Palestinians stole their car with a girl inside. The search lasted about 20 minutes with the participation of military forces and the family, until the girl was found in the village of Nabi Elias and returned to her mother. The thieves fled to the village of Azzun. The girl said: 'I thought I was kidnapped.' The father described how he turned his back for a moment and the car moved.

An Arab-Israeli family returning from a vacation in the Dead Sea area, Jericho, Ramallah, and Nablus stopped in the village of Nabi Elias in the West Bank to wash their car and pick up clothes from a friend's business. While the father got out of the car and turned his back, Palestinians entered the vehicle and drove off with the girl inside. The father, noticing the theft, chased the car along with another person. Military and police forces were called to the area and set up roadblocks fearing a kidnapping. After about 20 minutes, the girl was found in the heart of the village, after the thieves stopped and let her out of the car. The girl, who was in shock, said she was scared and thought she had been kidnapped, but calmed down when she saw her father. The thieves fled to the village of Azzun. The family thanked God for the safe return.
