Captain Hagai Maier elected chairman of the Israel Pilots Association

Captain Hagai Maier, a former fighter pilot and El Al captain, has been elected chairman of the Israel Pilots Association. Maier, with over 10,000 flight hours and diplomatic experience, said he intends to focus on the fight for independent and strong Israeli aviation, fostering pilots, and developing aviation infrastructure.

Captain Hagai Maier has been elected chairman of the Israel Pilots Association. Maier is an El Al captain with over 10,000 flight hours in the Israeli Air Force and civilian aviation. He served as a fighter pilot, squadron commander, and held training roles. He also served as an IDF attaché and Ministry of Defense representative in Italy, Greece, and Serbia. For 11 years he has been a member of the association's board and serves as vice president of the International Federation of Air Line Pilots' Associations for the Middle East. Maier said: "I am proud to hold the position and thank my predecessor, Captain Midan Bar, who led the association to become a meaningful body. We are in a complex geopolitical period. We will focus on the fight for independent and strong Israeli aviation, on treating and fostering pilots of commercial airlines, on preserving and developing aviation infrastructure, on safety issues, alliances and foreign relations, and on strengthening the world of flight and aviation in Israel."
