Cannabis reform and psychedelic treatment for combat PTSD: Ale Yarok returns

The Ale Yarok party has announced its candidacy in the upcoming Knesset elections under Nir Yoptero, known as 'the Angel'. Yoptero set threshold conditions for any coalition: full legalization, reform of medical cannabis, and psychedelic treatments for post-trauma. He attacked the Ministry of Health, as well as Arab and Haredi parties.

The Ale Yarok party, founded in 1999, announced it will run in the upcoming general elections for the 26th Knesset under the leadership of Nir Yoptero, known by the nickname 'the Angel' for his long-term assistance to medical cannabis patients. Yoptero was appointed by the party's founder, Boaz Wachtel, to lead the list. In his announcement, Yoptero set clear threshold conditions for entering any future coalition: full legalization of cannabis, comprehensive reform in the medical cannabis field, and promotion of treatments based on psychedelic substances for post-trauma sufferers. In his remarks, Yoptero sharply attacked the Ministry of Health and the Medical Cannabis Unit (YAKAR), claiming they abuse patients and leave combat soldiers without a response. He pointed an accusing finger at the Arab and Haredi parties, which he said prevented the advancement of legalization. Yoptero shared that he has paid heavy personal prices, including arrests and indictments, due to his activities. He called on the public to give the party power to change the system.
