Call for international action.. Hamas condemns demolition of UNRWA compound in Jerusalem

The Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" condemned, in a press statement issued Tuesday, the Israeli occupation authorities' demolition of the UNRWA compound in the Kafr Aqab neighborhood north of occupied Jerusalem. The movement described the step as a blatant attack on a UN agency and a clear challenge to UN resolutions and international charters. Hamas viewed this demolition as a continuation of the systematic aggression against the Palestinian people, and that the continued international failure and lack of effective response encourages the occupation to persist in its violations. The movement called on the international community and the United Nations to take immediate action to stop the violations, and demanded punitive deterrent measures against the occupation, holding the UN responsible for protecting UNRWA and enabling it to fulfill its role as a witness to the refugee issue and their right of return.
