By what criteria will Israelis vote in the elections - poll

According to a poll by the Israel Democracy Institute, the economy and high cost of living (41%) are the main factor for voters in the upcoming elections. Security issues (38%) are in second place. Among Jewish respondents, the draft (27%) and religion-state relations (26%) are significant. The identity of the party leader (22%) is only in fifth place, and the judicial overhaul (18%) is last.

The results of a poll by the Israel Democracy Institute on the factors influencing Israelis' choices in the upcoming Knesset elections have been published. The main criterion is the economic situation and high cost of living — 41% of respondents included this issue among their top two. In second place are foreign policy and security issues (38%). Among Jewish respondents, the third and fourth places were taken by the draft issue (27%) and religion-state relations (26%). The identity of the party leader was only in fifth place (22%), and the judicial overhaul, which dominated the agenda in 2023, was last (18%). Among Arab respondents, less than 10% named crime in the Arab sector as one of the two most important issues. The poll also showed that the traditional division into supporters and opponents of Netanyahu had almost no impact on the results. The election campaign is focused on the consequences of the October 7, 2023 attack, which explains the increased attention to security: for comparison, before the 2022 elections, only 11% named this issue as the main one.
