Businessman Kobi Sidi, former CEO of Hapoel Tel Aviv in soccer and associated with Atletico Madrid, is initiating a project to bring Jewish and Arab children closer through sports. Sidi proposes establishing joint soccer teams for Jewish and Arab children in various regions of the country, such as a joint team of children from Nazareth and Afula. Additionally, he aims to initiate the purchase of tickets for hundreds of Arab and Jewish children to watch together games of leading teams like Hapoel Tel Aviv and Maccabi Haifa. Sidi notes that about 33% of Israel's Arabs are children up to age 14, and emphasizes the importance of starting at a young age before prejudices form. He recounts a visit to the Old City of Jerusalem where he met Arabs who expressed a wish for peace, and assistance to Druze affected by the missile strike disaster in Majdal Shams. The project is intended for Jewish and Arab children living within the Green Line.
