Bus merger: Metropoline to buy Tnufa

Metropoline is set to acquire Tnufa, merging two of Israel's largest bus companies. Metropoline, owned by Bon Tour (controlled by Generation Capital at 73% and Leumi Partners at 27%), operates in the Negev, Sharon, and Netanya-Tel Aviv regions. Tnufa, owned by Maya Tours EL, China Motors, and the Shasha Group, operates in the Jerusalem and Samaria regions. Both companies have faced significant fines for poor service: Metropoline was fined NIS 22.5 million in the first half of 2024, and Tnufa NIS 14.5 million. In the latest Ministry of Transport quality ranking, Metropoline ranked last. A Metropoline source claimed the company is improving service indicators. The deal's details remain undisclosed.
