Bus collides with car on Route 90, young man killed

A young man, about 20 years old, was killed this morning in a road accident between a private car and a bus on Route 90 near the Hugla Junction. The bus driver, 66, was lightly injured and taken to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital. MDA medics pronounced the car driver dead at the scene. The road is blocked in both directions.

A young man, about 20 years old, was killed this morning (Friday) in a road accident between a private car and a bus on Route 90, near the Hugla Junction in the Jericho area. The bus driver, a 66-year-old man, was lightly injured and taken to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital. The bus was empty of passengers. At 06:31, a report was received at MDA's 101 hotline. Medics and paramedics found the car driver trapped, unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing, with multi-system injuries, and were forced to pronounce his death at the scene. MDA paramedic Menachem Rusk described the accident as shocking. Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident, and Route 90 is blocked to traffic in both directions between Beit Hogla and Qasr al-Yahud.
