Burglar returns to home to give back what he stole - and left a remorseful note: "Don't tell"

A resident of Kafr Kanna, Amir Hayajneh (34), is accused of breaking into a home, stealing jewelry and equipment worth tens of thousands of shekels, regretting it, and returning to return some of the equipment with a note saying "Don't tell I broke in." Weeks later, he was caught in another burglary.

Amir Hayajneh (34) from Kafr Kanna is accused of breaking into a home in the valleys region in May, from which he stole jewelry, a Sony console, and glasses worth tens of thousands of shekels. About two weeks after the burglary, the homeowner was surprised to discover that a significant portion of the equipment had been returned, including the gold jewelry, the console, and a photo of his son. Alongside the equipment, a note was left in which the burglar asked: "Don't tell I broke in." Despite the return, the police continued the investigation. On July 18, a report was received of another break-in at the same house, again through the shower window, using a knife. In the second burglary, additional jewelry and cash were stolen, and the suspect left a knife at the scene that enabled forensic identification. He was arrested shortly after. Initially denying it in the investigation, he later linked himself to the offenses. The indictment was filed at the Nazareth Magistrate's Court. His defense attorney, Adv. Wasim Daher, stated that the defendant expressed sincere and courageous remorse and is dealing with complex issues, requesting a rehabilitative approach.
