Blue Bird passengers stuck on plane without air conditioning: "Nightmare"

Blue Bird flight BZ742 from Ben Gurion to Crete, scheduled for 14:00, was delayed, leaving passengers on the tarmac for about an hour and a half without proper air conditioning in August heat. Some called police and banged on the cockpit door until a flight attendant opened a door for ventilation. Blue Bird apologized, attributing delays to unusual congestion in Greek airspace.

Blue Bird flight BZ742 from Ben Gurion Airport to Crete, scheduled to depart at 14:00, was delayed, and passengers remained inside the aircraft on the ground for about an hour and a half. During the wait, only minimal air conditioning operated, in the peak August heat, and passengers reported harsh conditions: "All the children were screaming, there was sweat and stench on the plane. Everyone turned red from the heat," a passenger told N12. Some passengers called the police and banged forcefully on the cockpit door until a flight attendant opened one of the doors to let air in. The flight attendants were described as "poor things too" due to the conditions and reactions. In Blue Bird's response, it was stated that a significant portion of the delays stems from unusual congestion in Greek airspace and airports, and that yesterday the company operated 84 flights, its highest daily volume to date. The company expressed apologies for the inconvenience.
