The system will read the existing medical records, present a focused summary of previous diagnoses, medications, and tests, and transcribe the conversation with the patient after obtaining consent and in accordance with privacy rules. After the visit, it will draft a complete medical document, which the doctor must review, correct, and approve before it enters the record. Assuta emphasizes that the system will serve only as a decision-support tool and will not replace medical judgment. The agent will also help identify the need for additional tests or meetings and coordinate appointments. The goal is to reduce documentation time, save hundreds of work hours each month, shorten visit duration, and improve appointment availability. The development includes training the system on models of medical documents while removing identifying details. The first pilot is expected within a year, on a limited scale, and in parallel, Microsoft's cloud infrastructure will be migrated and platforms for additional AI agents will be established.
