The police have closed a criminal investigation case against Channel 14, after a petition filed by three organizations, including the movement led by Zehava Galon, demanded an investigation into more than 200 statements broadcast on the channel since October 7 on suspicion of incitement. The petitioners argued that the statements included calls for mass killing, destruction, and indiscriminate harm to civilians, and that this constituted a continuous and systematic pattern warranting examination of the responsibility of presenters, broadcasters, editors, and channel owners. The materials were reviewed by the opinion unit in the police's Investigations and Intelligence Division, and after forming an opinion and consulting senior officials, the division head determined there was no basis to continue the investigation and ordered the case closed. The state updated the High Court of Justice on the decision and requested to dismiss the petition, arguing that the professional bodies found no basis for criminal proceedings.
