Bituah Leumi Issues Important Reminder to Benefit Recipients
Bituah Leumi reminded benefit recipients of additional entitlements: discounts on transportation, electricity, water, municipal tax (arnona), taxes, and housing. Some benefits are granted automatically, but others require a separate application. For example, a 50% discount on public transport for certain categories, free travel for citizens over 67, and a discount on electricity for certain groups. The agency recommends regularly checking one's rights.
Bituah Leumi has reached out to benefit recipients with a reminder that, in addition to monthly payments, they may be entitled to additional benefits that in some cases can save thousands of shekels a year. These include discounts on public transportation, electricity, water, municipal tax (arnona), tax breaks, rental assistance, and medical services. Some benefits are granted automatically, but others require individuals to apply on their own to the relevant authorities. For example, recipients of disability, incapacity, and victims of hostilities can receive a 50% discount on public transport after updating their profile in the Rav-Kav system. Citizens over 67 are entitled to free travel after setting up a Zehav-Kav profile. When paying for electricity, some categories of recipients may pay only half the cost of the first 400 kWh per month. The arnona discount is determined by local authorities, and certain categories receive an additional 3.5 cubic meters of water per month at a reduced rate. Bituah Leumi stressed that not all benefits are granted automatically and recommended regularly checking one's rights.
