Bituah Leumi Changes Payment Dates — Who Will Get Money Earlier

Bituah Leumi has adjusted August payment dates due to weekends. Unemployment benefits were paid on August 12, child allowances on August 20, and main payments were moved from August 28 to August 27. The reporting deadline for self-employed is August 16. The average benefit amount has risen to 5,280 shekels.

In August, Israel's National Insurance Institute (Bituah Leumi) changed the schedule of benefit payments due to weekends. First, on Wednesday, August 12, unemployment benefits and income support payments were transferred. The reporting and contribution payment deadline for self-employed and employers, originally set for August 15, was moved to Sunday, August 16, since the 15th falls on Saturday. Child allowances will be paid on August 20. Main payments, including benefits for veterans, survivors, disability, disabled children, special services, mobility, work injury compensation, alimony, rehabilitation, care, and prisoners of war, as well as transfers to victims of hostilities, were moved from Friday, August 28 to Thursday, August 27. The agency also reported an increase in the average benefit amount since the beginning of 2026 by up to 2.64% due to the rise in the consumer price index. After the latest update, the average benefit across all types reached approximately 5,280 shekels. Recipients should take the new dates into account.
