Bituah Leumi benefits — payments will soon arrive in accounts

Israel's National Insurance Institute (Bituah Leumi) will transfer child allowances to families on August 20. The amount depends on the child's order: 173 shekels for the first, 219 each for the second, third, and fourth, and 173 again for the fifth and beyond. The 'Savings for Every Child' program adds 58 shekels monthly per child, with parents able to contribute another 58 from the allowance. Payments are usually processed automatically on the 20th.

Israel's National Insurance Institute (Bituah Leumi) is preparing the next child allowance payment to families. The transfer is scheduled for August 20 — two days after publication. As of January 1, 2026, the monthly amount depends on the child's order in the family: 173 shekels for the first child, 219 shekels each for the second, third, and fourth, and 173 shekels again for the fifth and each subsequent child. The allowance is paid for children up to age 18, and eligibility does not depend on parental employment. Funds are usually transferred to one parent's bank account. In parallel, the 'Savings for Every Child' program operates: the institute deposits 58 shekels monthly into each child's savings account until age 18. Parents can boost savings by directing another 58 shekels from the allowance itself, bringing the total to 116 shekels per month. For children who immigrated without parents, separate rules apply — such a child may receive the allowance independently. In most cases, processing is automatic, with payment occurring on the 20th of each month.
