According to police, the couple was staying at a hotel with three young children when an argument escalated into physical violence. The woman told investigators that her husband bit her face and finger, causing injuries that police classify as substantial harm. The suspect acknowledged his involvement but claimed the attack was mutual. On Saturday evening, he was brought before the Eilat Magistrate's Court for a hearing on extending his detention. The investigator requested that the man remain in custody to complete additional investigative steps, including a confrontation between the spouses. The suspect's lawyer argued for release under house arrest, insisting it was an isolated incident and that the man had no prior criminal record. The suspect himself stated that the incident was uncharacteristic of their family life and expressed shame. Despite this, the judge extended his detention by another day. Investigators were instructed to complete necessary actions and, together with the prosecution, decide the case's further course.
