Bennett: 'Israel can overthrow the regime in Iran, but we missed the window of opportunity'

Speaking at a conference, he noted that the Netanyahu government did not take the necessary steps before the strike on Iran, particularly failing to ensure internet access in the country, which could have supported protests.

Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett spoke at a national security conference organized by Yedioth Ahronoth and INSS. He stated that Israel has the ability to overthrow the ayatollah regime in Iran but missed the right moment. According to Bennett, the Iranian regime is destined to fall, but this process may take a long time. He criticized the Netanyahu government for inaction before the strike on Iran, particularly for not ensuring internet functionality in Iran. Bennett explained that during protests in Iran, authorities cut off the internet, depriving the opposition of the ability to coordinate actions and communicate with the outside world. Thus, in his view, Israel missed a strategic window of opportunity.
