Bank of Israel eases life for thousands of citizens — aid of 1,600 shekels

The project's budget is about 7.2 million shekels, which is roughly 1,600 shekels per participant. The program includes individual assistance in budget management, debt reduction, and digital support. Since March 2026, about 600 soldiers have already taken part.

The Bank of Israel has announced the launch of a new three-year financial support program for IDF soldiers experiencing financial difficulties. The program is implemented jointly with the IDF Manpower Directorate and the Class Action Fund. It will cover about 4,500 soldiers, approximately 1,500 per year. The project's budget is about 7.2 million shekels, which is about 1,600 shekels per participant. Since March 2026, about 600 soldiers have already participated. The program provides comprehensive individual support: financial situation analysis, personal budget preparation, and digital support through special platforms. The main goals are to help reduce debts, better control expenses and income, and obtain entitled social rights. The event was attended by Bank of Israel Governor Professor Amir Yaron, Chairman of the Class Action Fund retired judge Yaakov Sheinman, and Head of the IDF Manpower Directorate Major General David (Dado) Bar Halifa. Yaron emphasized that education expenses should be viewed as investments. Bar Halifa stated plans to expand the initiative to the regular forces.
