Avida Bachar, who lost his wife and son on October 7, warns of Hamas's continued strengthening and demands a fundamental change in Gaza. In an interview with 103FM, he says the assumption that Hamas will agree to disarm is unrealistic, and calls on Israel to set a different goal: to push the world to take the Strip's residents, because "they cannot stay here." He clarifies that he does not want to settle there, but also does not want it to remain theirs. Bachar argues that a security buffer is insufficient, as terrorists would drive just a few more minutes on the way to Be'eri and the Gaza envelope in the next massacre. He adds that if Israel is not determined, it will be massacred again and again. Regarding the possibility of receiving a reserved spot on the Likud list, Bachar rejects it outright: "I'm not going anywhere without responsibility." He says he is currently rebuilding his home, his family, and his kibbutz.
