Avi Nesher's new film, "Our Loves", received applause at the Toronto Film Festival

Avi Nesher's new film, "Our Loves", premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival under heavy security and received a prolonged standing ovation from the audience. The film, selected for the Centrepiece program, is set on October 6, 2023, and follows seven characters and intersecting love stories on the eve of war. Alongside the premiere, the film will open the Haifa Film Festival, where Nesher will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Director Avi Nesher's new film, "Our Loves", received a warm reception at its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film, selected for the prestigious Centrepiece program, was screened under heavy security and received prolonged applause from the audience, who stood and cheered for Nesher and the actors Yaniv Biton, Noa Cohen, and Daniel Gimpel, who attended the event. The plot, inspired by true events, takes place on October 6, 2023, the day before the outbreak of war, and follows seven characters and intersecting love stories in the final moments before the massacre. Alongside the actors who participated in the premiere, the film also stars Shalom Michaelashvili, Maggie Azarzar, Hadas Yaron, and Evelyn Haguel. The film, which was nominated for 12 Ophir Awards, will open the 42nd Haifa International Film Festival, where Nesher will be awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his contribution to Israeli culture.
