Avi Nesher's Film 'Our Love' to Screen at Toronto Festival
Avi Nesher's new film, 'Our Love', has been selected to participate in the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this September, as part of the Centrepiece program. Avi Nesher's new film, 'Our Love', has been selected to participate in the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this coming September. The plot, inspired by true events, follows seven characters whose lives become intertwined following the October 7 massacre, focusing on their relationships and the changes in their lives after the outbreak of war. The cast includes Shalom Michaelshvili, Maggie Azarzar, Yaniv Biton, Noa Cohen, Hadas Yaron, Evelyn Hagoel, Kim Or Azulai, and Daniel Gimple. The production, which includes 'United King Films' and SIPUR, has been joined by international content giants Fox Entertainment Studios and Access Entertainment as partners. Danny Cohen, president of Access Entertainment and former head of BBC television, noted that he sees the film as a potential Oscar nominee in the foreign language category. Earlier this week, the production garnered 12 nominations for the Ophir Awards, leading in the Best Feature Film category. The Toronto Festival, founded in 1976, is considered one of the most important film festivals in the world. Among the Israeli films screened there in the past are 'Waltz with Bashir', 'Broken Wings', 'The Band's Visit', 'The Secrets', and 'Once I Was'. Last year, the documentary 'The Distance Between Us: The Ultimate Rescue', telling the story of Maj. Gen. (res.) Noam Tibon, participated in the festival, and after a temporary cancellation, it was screened and won the Audience Award.
