Attorney General: Law enforcement will act to ensure no undue influence on elections

Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara met today (Sunday) with Central Elections Committee Chairman, Supreme Court Justice Noam Sohlberg, Acting Director General Adv. Dean Livne, State Attorney Amit Isman, and their teams, as part of preparations for the Knesset elections. The meeting discussed the commitment of law enforcement agencies to safeguarding election integrity and ensuring a proper, free, and fair process. Ways to enhance enforcement against criminal offenses under election laws, enforcement of the prohibition on blocking traffic routes on election day, and legal aspects of undue influence on voters were discussed. Baharav-Miara stated that all law enforcement agencies will act in full cooperation with the committee to ensure a process free from undue influences. Sohlberg emphasized that election integrity is a fundamental condition for public trust in democracy, and that the committee is preparing for all challenges. Isman noted that the State Attorney's Office will work with the Israel Police and other bodies to provide a rapid response to any suspicion of an election law violation.
