The Haifa District Attorney's Office today (Thursday) filed an indictment against a 28-year-old resident of Tamra, suspected of shooting a local resident about a month ago and fleeing. The shooting occurred on July 4 at a bicycle repair shop in Tamra, while other people were present. As a result of the shooting, a local resident was wounded moderately-to-seriously and was evacuated while sedated and ventilated. The suspect was arrested within hours, and the vehicle used for escape was found hidden in Haifa. During the arrest, a substance suspected to be drugs in an amount not for personal use was seized at his home. Police reported that since the beginning of the year, more than 570 weapons have been seized in the northern district. The prosecution requested to extend his detention until the end of proceedings.
