An official report from the Israeli Prime Minister's Office revealed a significant difference in current expenses for maintaining the official residence under Naftali Bennett and Benjamin Netanyahu. According to the document, total current expenses for a comparable period under Bennett amounted to about 1.37 million shekels, while under Netanyahu they were only 465 thousand. The gap is approximately 905 thousand shekels, meaning Bennett's expenses were nearly three times higher. The report lists main items: food, electricity, water, maintenance, gardening, insurance, and communications. The reason for the difference is the closure of the official residence on Balfour Street in Jerusalem due to extensive security reinforcement and renovation work carried out by Shin Bet. As a result, Bennett lived in his private home in Ra'anana, adapted as a working residence. This sparked public criticism and legal discussions. Netanyahu's office stated that his expenses amount to less than a third of the sums recorded under Bennett.
