According to the Arm News agency, citing diplomatic sources, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has informed Pakistan that it will not agree to an agreement without central control over passage through the strait. The IRGC proposed linking the resumption of shipping to a 'goodwill gesture' from US President Donald Trump, including a commitment not to resume attacks against Iran, lifting the naval blockade, easing sanctions, and unfreezing part of Iran's frozen assets. A framework proposal involving Oman has also been presented: tankers would transit the strait along routes determined by Iran, providing vessel information. The scheme is designed as a pilot project lasting one to three months. The report comes amid mediation efforts by Pakistan and Qatar. Pakistan's army chief, General Asim Munir, plays a key role. Expert Muhammad al-Madhaji noted that the main obstacle remains the internal conflict in Tehran: reformists seek an agreement, while the IRGC prefers continued conflict. He also stated that if oil prices fall to $70, strikes could resume, and if Democrats win the midterm elections, Trump might strike in December.
