Apple is starting to pay compensation to Israeli customers totaling 10 million shekels under a settlement approved by the Tel Aviv District Court in April 2026. Payments reach up to 1,890 shekels per device. Claims are accepted from August 18 to December 16, 2026. Compensation is available to owners of iPhone SE, 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, or 7 Plus with iOS 10.2.1 or 11.2 activated before December 21, 2017, who selected Israel during registration. The legal battle lasted nine years since 2017.

Apple is beginning to pay compensation to Israeli customers totaling 10 million shekels. This was reported by Ynet on Wednesday, August 19. The payments are stipulated in a settlement agreement regarding the slowdown of older iPhone models. The agreement was approved by the Tel Aviv District Court in April 2026, concluding a nine-year legal battle that began in 2017. The payment amount is up to 1,890 shekels per eligible device. An online application can be submitted within 120 days, from August 18 to December 16, 2026, on a dedicated website. Compensation will be received by users whose devices meet three conditions: iPhone models SE, 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, or 7 Plus; iOS 10.2.1 or iOS 11.2 was installed and activated on the iPhone before December 21, 2017; and the owner selected Israel as the country during registration. The dispute began in 2017 when users claimed that Apple deliberately reduced the performance of models through software updates to extend battery life. Apple offered battery replacements at a reduced price, but this did not stop the proceedings. In Israel, five class action petitions were consolidated into one proceeding. The parties reached an agreement after mediation by Dr. Amos Gabrieli and lawyer Vered Elkabetz. Apple categorically rejected the accusations, stating it never intentionally tried to shorten the lifespan of its products.
