Apple accidentally declassified its new gadget (VIDEO)
Apple accidentally revealed its new wireless AirPods headphones with built-in cameras. A video from the macOS Tahoe 26.7 build exposed the new feature: the cameras will help the Visual Intelligence system read information around the user. The development codename is B790. According to Bloomberg insider Mark Gurman, the premiere could take place in September at Apple's fall event alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone Ultra.
Apple has come close to announcing wireless AirPods headphones with built-in miniature cameras. The first official hints of this update accidentally leaked online thanks to a video from a pre-release build of the macOS Tahoe 26.7 operating system. In the released demonstration, a man holds a book up to the devices, allowing the built-in sensors to recognize its title. A voice-over explains how the new technology works: "Thanks to visual intelligence, your world becomes one that can be saved. See something you like? Just ask me to save it for later." Images captured by the cameras will be streamed to the Visual Intelligence system, allowing the Siri voice assistant to instantly analyze the owner's surroundings and record necessary data in real time. The macOS Tahoe 26.7 codebase also contains direct instructions on how to configure Visual Intelligence for the headphones, as well as a special warning for obstructions: if hair blocks the optics' view, the system will display a notification. The development has been assigned the internal index B790, previously mentioned by Bloomberg insider Mark Gurman. According to him, the device's premiere could take place as early as September during Apple's traditional fall event. The tech giant is expected to also unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone Ultra alongside the headphones.
