Another US aviation giant announces return to Israel

American airline Delta Air Lines plans to return to Israel on September 7, 2026, resuming daily flights between Tel Aviv and New York. The decision depends on the security situation in the region. United Airlines will resume flights on September 8 with two daily flights to Newark. American Airlines has delayed its return until the end of March 2027. United Airlines intends to resume flights on September 8, operating two daily flights between Tel Aviv and Newark on Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. American Airlines has delayed its return to the Israeli route until at least the end of March 2027. Currently, direct flights between Israel and the US are offered by El Al and Arkia, and Israir, which has acquired wide-body aircraft, may join them soon. The return of American carriers will intensify competition on routes between Israel and the US as early as the beginning of autumn.
