Israel Railways announced a temporary suspension of train services on the northern line. As many as 12 stations closed due to large-scale infrastructure works in the Zvulun area. The restrictions began on the night of Thursday, August 20, and will last until the morning of Sunday, August 23. If the work proceeds on schedule, full train service is expected to resume around 04:00. The temporarily closed stations include: Nahariya, Akko, Ahihud, Karmiel, Kiryat Motzkin, Kiryat Haim, Hutzot HaMifratz, Merkazit HaMifratz, Yokneam-Kfar Yehoshua, Migdal HaEmek-Kfar Baruch, Afula, and Beit She'an. Passengers traveling from the center of the country face significant inconvenience. Trains that usually go as far as Nahariya or Karmiel now terminate in Haifa. Similar changes apply to trains from Be'er Sheva. Service on the Haifa-Hof HaCarmel to Karmiel and Atlit to Beit She'an lines has been completely suspended. For passenger convenience, the company has organized free shuttle buses and reinforced regular northern bus routes. These measures are taken to ensure safety and carry out necessary technical procedures in the complete absence of passenger trains.
