Another airline refuses to return to Israel until 2027
Portuguese airline TAP Air Portugal has again postponed its return to Israel and will not operate flights between Tel Aviv and Lisbon until at least March 27, 2027. Previously, the cancellation was in effect until September 15, 2026. Passengers with tickets will be able to change their booking once for free. TAP joins American Airlines, which also suspended flights until March 27, 2027, and Air Canada, which extended the cancellation until mid-January 2027.
Portuguese airline TAP Air Portugal has again postponed the resumption of flights between Tel Aviv and Lisbon. The carrier announced it will not operate flights to Israel until at least March 27, 2027. Previously, the cancellation was in effect until September 15, 2026. Passengers with tickets for canceled flights will be able to change their booking once for free without paying a fare difference on the same route. The benefit applies to TAP and TAP Express flights. TAP Air Portugal joins American Airlines, which last month also announced the suspension of direct service between New York (JFK) and Tel Aviv until March 27, 2027. Canadian airline Air Canada also extended the cancellation of flights to Israel until mid-January 2027, although it originally planned to return on October 24, 2026. The flight cancellations are linked to the war with Iran, but with the arrival of the summer season, the situation at Ben-Gurion Airport began to improve, and foreign carriers started returning to the Israeli market.
