The indictment then stated that the officer violated basic secrecy obligations and was willing to "sell" highly classified security information for financial gain. According to the indictment, his actions posed a real risk to Air Force pilots and the IDF's operational activity, while breaching the trust placed in him. During the hearing, the officer raised the claim that "the entire Air Force engages in betting," and said that the thrill and financial gain led him to commit the acts. The court then called on senior officials to examine the claims about the betting phenomenon in the Air Force and added: "From the Air Force that soars high, it is expected that its people will not descend into deep abysses."
