Annexation or partition: how Israelis view the future of Judea and Samaria

A new poll by the Jewish People Policy Institute (JPPI) has revealed a deep divide in Israeli society over the future of Judea and Samaria. According to data published by The Times of Israel, 38% of Israeli Jews support full annexation of the territories, while 35% consider partition of the region optimal. Regarding the fate of the Arab population, opinions were divided as follows: 22% support relocating Arabs to other states, 21% support the creation of a Palestinian state, and 14% consider it appropriate to transfer the territories to Jordanian control. In parallel, the poll recorded a high level of distrust toward diplomatic initiatives in the Gaza Strip: 58% of all Israelis (including Jewish and Arab sectors) do not believe that the agreement to disarm Hamas will be implemented. Only 3% of respondents believe in full disarmament of the group, 15% allow for partial surrender of weapons, and 13% expect a new escalation. The poll was conducted from August 2 to 5, 2026, with 748 respondents representing both the Jewish and Arab populations of Israel.
