The IDF attacked last night in the Shati camp in the Gaza Strip, in response to the renewed threat of kites on the communities surrounding the Gaza Strip. The targets that were attacked were Hamas terrorist infrastructures, mainly weapons warehouses, located beyond the yellow line. The Palestinians reported that a mosque and a water desalination facility in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood were hit in the attack. Earlier, a telephone evacuation order was sent to several sites in the area, including an UNRWA elementary school, a Doctors Without Borders medical center, and a compound of the International Rescue Committee. In recent days, at least five kites were found in Kfar Aza and Nahal Oz, which did not contain incendiary or explosive materials. One of the kites bore a message in Arabic: "We will never rest." Initial investigations suggest that children and youths flew the kites on the orders of Hamas commanders. The events evoke memories of the period of incendiary kites and balloons that preceded the war. Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz held a situation assessment and warned that if the launches do not stop, the IDF will act to evacuate the population from the launch areas.
