Jared Kushner, the special envoy of US President Donald Trump, plans to arrive in Jerusalem and Cairo next week, according to an official source in the Peace Council speaking to i24NEWS. The visit will be accompanied by Nikolay Mladenov, CEO of the Peace Council for Gaza, and council member Tony Blair. The visit comes amid rising tensions in the Gaza Strip and increased Israeli operations against Hamas, following reports of the organization's attempts to rearm. During the visit, Kushner and council members will discuss advancing the roadmap of the 15-point plan. The source added that the US and Israel agree on the final goal – disarming Hamas. After Jerusalem, they will continue to Cairo for meetings with the Egyptians and other mediators. The source emphasized the parties' determination to advance a plan that includes a demilitarized Gaza and a technocratic government. Yesterday it was reported that Netanyahu spoke with Kushner in "not easy" conversations regarding the plan, and Israel made clear that operations will continue.
