Singer Yoav Eliasi ('The Shadow') was summoned today for questioning by the Police Internal Investigations Department (Mahash) following a Haaretz investigation revealing he allegedly used connections to prevent the closure of a Tel Aviv club. Earlier this week, a police officer (Rafak) was questioned under caution on suspicion of breach of trust and released under restrictive conditions. The investigation comes after Police Commissioner Danny Levy dismissed Eliasi from his role as commander of an emergency response squad.
Singer Yoav Eliasi ('The Shadow') was summoned today (Wednesday) for questioning by the Police Internal Investigations Department (Mahash), following a Haaretz investigation revealing he allegedly used connections to prevent the closure of a Tel Aviv club. Earlier this week, a police officer with the rank of Rafak was questioned under caution, among other suspicions, for breach of trust, and at the end of his questioning was released under conditions of distancing from police facilities and contact with those involved for 10 days. The investigations come after Police Commissioner, Chief Superintendent Danny Levy, decided last week to dismiss Eliasi from his role as commander of the emergency response squad in the Tel Aviv district. The dismissal came following a journalistic publication by journalist Josh Breiner in Haaretz, according to which Eliasi used his connections in the police to benefit a Tel Aviv entertainment complex in which he was a partner. Eliasi published his arrival at Mahash in a Facebook post with the caption 'Good morning'.
