Israeli company Tondo Smart, which develops AI-based systems for managing infrastructure and smart cities, reported today (Wednesday) to the stock exchange that it has completed a major milestone in a project it is carrying out for the Ministry of Defense in the field of drone detection and warning. The systems are designed to provide identification, warning, and protection against drone threats, an area that has become a central challenge since the 'Iron Swords' war, following widespread use of drones by Hamas, Hezbollah, and other entities for intelligence gathering and attack. The project began after in January 2025 the company signed an agreement with the Ministry of Defense, following a successful pilot. Now it reports completing the supply, installation, and deployment of all systems in the current phase. The company noted its intention to continue expanding cooperation and advance the project budget for 2027, but emphasized that there is no certainty that the project will be expanded or that additional systems will be ordered, and continued activity depends on Ministry of Defense decisions and budget approvals. For Tondo Smart, this is a strategic move expanding its activity from the civilian domain to the security market, characterized by long-term contracts and growing demand for AI technologies.
