Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif told Bloomberg on Tuesday that the US and Iran are close to 'some agreement'. He said, 'It seems things are again moving towards a peace arrangement or a deal', adding that 'the signs in the last two or three days are that we are close to some arrangement'. Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reported that American forces attacked a Panama-flagged ship this morning that was trying to bypass the US-imposed blockade on Iran's ports. A military helicopter fired at the ship's helm after the crew ignored warnings. A maritime security company reported that the container ship Vela Nova was hit by a missile launched from a helicopter in the Gulf of Oman, about 131 kilometers off the coast of Pakistan, and all 17 crew members were unharmed. In Israel, there is concern over reports that Trump is considering declaring 'victory' and ending the war against Iran even without a nuclear deal, provided Tehran opens the Strait of Hormuz. An Israeli official said, 'There is an element of concern, because Trump is unpredictable and also tends to change his mind'. A senior Israeli official said, 'The current situation is best for us - the blockade is maintained and the economic pressure on Iran continues'.
