American actress Patricia Heaton, star of the sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond," has joined calls to prevent New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani from participating in the 25th anniversary ceremony of the September 11 attacks. Heaton, who lived in New York in the 1980s and happened to be in the city on the day of the attacks, shared the petition with her followers on X and wrote: "Keep it up, New Yorkers." The petition, published on Change.org, has gathered nearly 45,000 signatures. The victims' families claim that Mamdani has shown a lenient attitude toward Islamic terrorist elements, and therefore his presence at the ceremony would be an insult to the memory of the murdered. Heaton has previously expressed support for Israel following the October 7 massacre, comparing Hamas to al-Qaeda in a video she released.
